Scorsese Casting Adrian Grenier as Sinatra

By Pete Grossman

Hoboken, NJ (INS) It has been announced that my former boss, Martin Scorsese, will direct a Frank Sinatra bio pic with the blessings of the Sinatra family and Warner Bros.

In a strange twist of fate, Adrian Grenier the lead in the hit HBO series, Entourage, has been cast as Sinatra. Strange because in the last episode of Entourage, Grenier’s character, Vinnie Chase, who’s career is falling faster than a boulder tossed from the Empire State Building, gets a call from Scorsese telling Vinnie that he’s casting him in the lead of his next (fake) picture.

Grenier is elated and surprised. “Fake life imitates real art. If this isn’t a Hollywood story, I don’t know what is! This the role of a lifetime!”

“I have to admit it’s a bit surreal calling Vinnie Chase’s character in a TV show and then offering him a part in real life,” says Scorsese, “but Grenier brings a certain savoir-faire to the role and his lip-synching abilities are unparalleled.”

When asked who he’s considering for the other roles, Scorsese said “Well, there’s a good chance Kevin Connolly could play Peter Lawford and of course we’d have to find something for Kevin Dillion. Maybe Dino.
